We were called in by a commercial client at a retail park on Sealand Road, Chester to reduce and reshape a large Leylandii hedge. The hedge ran for approximately 40 metres and had reached around 20 feet in height, so this was a substantial job.
We reduced the hedge by 5 feet and then trimmed the face back to leave a neat, uniform finish. The hedge had been encroaching onto the car park road, which is a common problem with Leylandii if they aren’t kept on top of. Left unchecked, overgrown hedges on commercial properties can obstruct vehicles and pedestrians and quickly become a health and safety concern.
Regular maintenance is key with Leylandii. They grow fast and once they get away from you, they become much harder and more expensive to bring back into shape. We always recommend having Leylandii hedges cut back at least once or twice a year to keep them manageable and looking tidy.
The end result here was a very neat, clean hedge line across the full 40 metres, and the client was very happy with the finish. It makes a big difference to the overall appearance of a commercial property when the boundaries are well maintained.
