Birch Tree Reduction & Removal, Upton, Chester

Tree surgeon carefully reducing a large birch over a neighbour's roof in Chester CH2

We were recently called out to a property in Upton, Chester to carry out work on a group of mature birch trees. Three of the birches needed reducing, including one large specimen overhanging a neighbour’s roof.

As a fully insured and experienced tree surgery team, careful, controlled work is second nature to us. We reduced the crowns in sections, working methodically to protect the neighbouring property and everyone below. With a job like this, taking the time to rig and lower limbs when necessary makes all the difference.

With the reductions complete, we turned our attention to a fourth birch in the front garden, which the customer asked us to remove entirely. This one came with an added complication — telephone lines running directly through the tree. This is a situation that understandably worries a lot of homeowners, but it’s something we deal with regularly. We dismantled the tree carefully from above, taking it down piece by piece and working methodically around the cables so that the lines were never put at risk.

Rather than haul the timber away, we ringed up all the wood into manageable logs and left them with the customer for his wood burner — a welcome supply of firewood for the winter ahead. Everything else was chipped on site and removed, leaving the gardens clear and tidy.

We’re pleased to say the neighbours were all delighted with the result, and the customer was left with healthier trees, a tidier garden and a good stack of logs.
